Orders

All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability. Coventry Transport Museum cannot confirm the price of a product until your order is accepted on dispatch and Coventry Transport Museum reserves the right to change prices without prior notice.
If the price of goods ordered changes prior to dispatch then we will send you an e-mail and you may, in those circumstances, cancel your order. All prices include VAT at the appropriate rate.

Availability of Goods

Receipt of your order does not guarantee that we can supply the selected Products to you. Our web site is regularly updated throughout the day, to ensure that we provide accurate details on product availability and the time period of any special offer is regularly updated. We endeavour to ensure availability on all our advertised items is constant, however we cannot guarantee availability. In the unlikely event that your chosen item is unavailable we will contact you by e-mail as soon as possible to advise of expected delivery dates.

Acknowledgement of Order

  • Once you have selected the products you wish to order, click on the “proceed to checkout” button at the end of the checkout process.
  • Once you have clicked on the “proceed to checkout” button you are offered the option of paying via credit card or using paypal. We obtain an authorisation from your Credit card company for the amount detailed on the order summary page.
  • A contract of sale for the products you have ordered is concluded between you and Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop only upon those products being paid for in full and shipped to you.

We may refuse or be unable to process your order if:

Disputes arising herefrom shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If any of these Terms should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any state or country in which these Terms are intended to be effective, it shall be severed and deleted from this clause. All other Terms shall remain in full force and continue to be binding and enforceable.

Placing Orders

We have designed our site to be as simple as possible, so purchasing from us is even easier than on the high street.

When you have found the product you would like to buy, simply click the "add to basket" button. Once you are happy with your order, you can proceed to checkout.

Once you have placed the order, we will send you an e-mail receipt, and also let you know once your order has been dispatched.

VAT on Goods Sold By Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop

VAT

VAT (value added tax) is charged on goods sold by Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop within the European Union (EU). In accordance with the laws governing members of the European Union, Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop is obliged to charge VAT on all orders delivered to destinations in member countries of the EU. In general, VAT is charged in accordance with European Legislation in each member state. All prices displayed for goods sold by Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop are inclusive of UK VAT.

VAT for UK customers

The UK VAT rate on books delivered to the UK is 0%. For non-book items that are shipped to addresses within the UK (such as CDs, videos, DVDs, and prints) the UK VAT rate is 17.5%. For items containing a book and an item such as a CD-ROM (mixed media), the VAT charged is dependent on the proportion of the total cost subject to VAT. The VAT rate on delivery reflects the VAT rate of the items we are sending you.

VAT for EU customers outside the UK

Delivery

Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop always endeavours to adhere to delivery estimates but these are always estimates. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods.

Delivery in the UK

All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which will be added to the price of the products at the checkout. All items are dispatched using recorded delivery which will require a signature.

Delivery for most items can be expected within 28 days.

Delivery to Non-Cardholders address

We may permit you to send your order to an address other than the card holders. Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop cannot be held responsible for non delivery due to incorrect information being given at the time of the order. If delivery is attempted, but no one was available to sign for it, we reserve the right to charge you for any subsequent delivery attempts.

International Delivery

Your order can be delivered to anywhere in the world. When you add items to your shopping basket you should select the appropriate postage and packaging cost for international delivery.

Risk

As soon as we have delivered the goods to your door, or to a nominated person, you will be responsible for them. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk. Any transit damage to the goods, shortages or incorrect goods supplied must be noted on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery.

Notification of Claims due to Delivery Errors

Damage in transit: If goods arrive in a damaged condition you must make a note on the carrier's delivery consignment note and it will be your responsibility to inform us within 7 days from delivery.

Shortages: It is your responsibility to sign for the correct number of packages as shown on the carrier's delivery consignment note. Any shortages must be noted on the consignment note and it will be your responsibility to notify us within 7 days from delivery.

Incorrect Goods: It is your responsibility to notify us of any incorrect goods supplied within 7 days from delivery.

Non-Deliveries

We will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless we are notified within 10 days from the expected delivery date.

Change/Cancel Your Order

Change Your Order

Once you have placed your order you can change or cancel it at any point up until the order has been packed ready for postage. Once your order has been packed and entered the postal system we are unable to change it.

To make any changes to your order, please call the Museum on +44 (0)24 7623 4270 or email shop@transport-museum.co.uk quoting your order number as soon as possible.

Cancel Your Order

You may cancel your order at any time free of charge before a confirmed delivery date.

In addition, you have the right to cancel your order within seven working days of delivery (starting the day after you receive the goods). This is a UK statutory right and will apply to your order unless your order is for: video, DVD, audio, multimedia or software products and the product seal has been broken.

In this case, you are responsible for the safe return of the product to us, including the cost of doing so. We may be able to arrange this on your behalf for a fee which will be advised at the time of booking such a service.

If you have decided to cancel your order we will refund your credit card within 30 days of cancellation or from when we receive the goods, whichever is later.

After 7 days, we reserve the right to deduct re-stocking fee or a delivery cost recovery fee from the amount refunded. If goods are received back 'as new' but incomplete with missing components and accessories we will charge the cost of the accessories to you.

Goods received back in any condition other than 'as new' will be returned back to you, at your cost.

Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop is happy to exchange or refund any items returned in their original condition with a receipt up to 28 days from the date of purchase.

Regrettably, we are not able to exchange:

video, DVD, audio, multimedia or software products and the product seal has been broken

If a product is faulty and is returned with proof of purchase, we will be happy to exchange or refund.

Returns Policy

If you simply change your mind about your order within 7 days of it being delivered then you may be able to cancel your order and return your goods to us. Please see the cancellations policy.

The goods must be unused and 'as new' in their original box and packaging including all manuals and accessories. You must notify us within 14 days from date of delivery and we will issue you with a Returns Authorisation Number. The Returns Authorisation number will be valid for 14 days and it will be your responsibility to return the goods to us at your own cost and risk. Under your statutory rights, if you inform us in writing that you wish to return your item within seven days from the order, we will give you a full refund, less any charges for extra services such as gift wrapping, next day delivery.

Faulty Returns Not working on arrival

A product is deemed to be faulty on arrival if it shows symptoms of a failure preventing basic operation upon its first use out of the box. In such instances please contact the Coventry Transport Museum Online Shop on +44 (0)24 7623 4270 within 7 days from the delivery date. You can then either return the faulty item directly yourself or we will arrange for collection of the goods at your cost. Upon receipt of the goods and confirmation of the fault by our product support team you will be offered the following options:

  • A replacement; this item will be shipped to you at our own expense.
  • A repair; the repaired item will be shipped to you at our own expense. Please note that once repaired the product is no longer eligible for replacement.
  • A full refund provided the item has been verified faulty and is complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging.

If the product is not deemed to be faulty by our product support team then you will be offered the following options:

  • Return of the goods and the cost of delivery charged to you.
  • Refund the invoice cost less any applicable delivery and collection charges provided the product is 'as new' and complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging. If the condition of the product or the packaging is poor then we reserve the right to impose a charge to cover re-packaging costs. Missing accessories will also be charged to you.

Faulty returns not working after 14 days

The manufacturer's guarantee (if any) will apply to all items reported to be faulty after 14 days from delivery.

This does not apply to faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse, for which there will be no refund or exchange. This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.

Other

You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you.
